Activists circulated a video showing a large fire erupting at the waste dump in Bchannine – Zgharta, with flames spiraling out of control due to an accumulation of piled up trash.
The fire broke out suddenly for unknown reasons, sending thick smoke across the area and spreading foul odors, which poses a serious environmental and health crisis for local residents.
Locals have called on the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environment to urgently intervene to extinguish the fire and contain its consequences before the environmental and health damages worsen.
