Judge Hajjar requests lifting immunity of Boujikian over corruption charges

Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Judge Jamal Hajjar, has formally requested the lifting of parliamentary immunity from former Minister of Industry and current MP George Boujikian.
The request, submitted through Minister of Justice Adel Nassar to the General Secretariat of Parliament, seeks permission to prosecute Boujiikian on charges of embezzlement, accepting bribes, and extorting factory owners in exchange for granting work permits during his tenure as Minister of Industry.
