In an interview with “Sawt Kel Lebnen,” Minister of Administrative Development Fadi Makki announced the reactivation of administrative rotation and the implementation of a unified mechanism for most public sector appointments, excluding certain judicial, banking, and diplomatic posts.

Makki emphasized that the process, jointly overseen by the Ministry of Administrative Development and the Civil Service Board, aims to ensure merit, transparency, and minimal political interference. “Intervention in this process is virtually nonexistent,” he said.

Makki explained that after filtering candidates, a short list will be submitted for final consideration, allowing ministers and the Cabinet to select based on political consensus. “While we cannot fully eliminate political quotas, we are mitigating their impact,” he noted.

The Minister added that appointments have already been finalized for Télé Liban, as well as for regulatory bodies in the electricity, telecommunications, and cannabis sectors, with a broader set of appointments to follow.
