Bukhari visits Akkar Mufti, emphasizes coexistence and Saudi support for Lebanon

Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Bukhari visited Akkar Mufti, Sheikh Zayd Bakkar Zakaria, at his residence in Al-Qurna, accompanied by religious and social figures.
The Saudi diplomat later headed to the Dar al-Fatwa in Halba for a broader meeting that gathered religious, political, and civil leaders from Akkar.
Among those present were MPs Mohammed Sleiman, Mohammed Yahya, and Assaad Dergham, Akkar Governor Imad Labaki, Orthodox Bishop Basilios Mansour, and Maronite Archdiocesan Vicar Father Elias Jergis, representing Bishop Youssef Soueif. Representatives of other sects and local leaders also attended.
Speakers praised Saudi Arabia’s consistent support for Lebanon and its people. Ambassador Bukhari underscored the importance of safeguarding Lebanon’s diverse communities and commended Akkar as a model of coexistence. “Lebanon has a beautiful future, God willing,” he said.
In turn, Mufti Zakaria highlighted the Kingdom’s outreach efforts and upcoming bilateral agreements, describing Saudi Arabia as a leader in the Arab and Islamic worlds and a key actor for peace.
