Menassa meets UN Special Coordinator over Southern border security

Minister of National Defense Michel Menassa welcomed UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert who extended her congratulations to him marking Lebanese Army Day.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest domestic developments, particularly the security situation along Lebanon’s southern frontier. They reviewed the role of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in upholding regional stability and emphasized the ongoing coordination and cooperation between the Lebanese Armed Forces and international peacekeepers.
The pair also reaffirmed the importance of fully implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701 in all its provisions, in order to guarantee regional security, preserve Lebanese sovereignty, and further underscore Lebanon’s partnership with the United Nations.
