8/4/2025 10:55:00 AM

Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar affirmed that the judicial process surrounding the Beirut Port explosion is purely legal and independent from government affairs and political files.

During a visit to the Beirut Fire Brigade headquarters, Hajjar stated that "the government is committed to the principle of justice. We are awaiting judicial decisions and will implement them seriously. We hope the truth will emerge soon."

He also emphasized full cooperation with the Ministry of Justice in pursuit of the full truth, stressing that "a state cannot be built unless justice is the ultimate authority."

Hajjar paid tribute to the victims of the port explosion and the Beirut Fire Brigade, expressing hope that their sacrifice will serve as a driving force for rebuilding Lebanon on new foundations rooted in justice and unity.

"What matters is not financial compensation but achieving justice," he said. "To the families of the victims, your pain is our pain. We are all waiting for the truth to come to light."
