Karami, El-Sayyed discuss inclusive education, family values, and regional school needs

Minister of Education Rima Karami met with Social Affairs Minister Haneen El-Sayyed with whom she discussed Lebanon’s national strategy for persons with special needs, highlighting the ministry’s inclusive schools program.
The ministers also reviewed the joint plan for the return of displaced persons to Syria and preparations to launch a national volunteer platform targeting student engagement in community service.
Karameh later received a delegation from the Lebanese Forum for the Protection of Family and Values, representing major religious institutions. Discussions focused on safeguarding the family unit and reinforcing ethical and civic values through education.
In a separate meeting, the minister welcomed a delegation from the Alawite Islamic Council, led by Sheikh Mohammad Abdel Karim. The talks addressed the condition of public schools in Tripoli’s Jabal Mohsen area, with emphasis on infrastructure, staffing, and development needs.
All meetings concluded with a shared commitment to continued coordination and support for national priorities.
