Raggi meets French Envoy, Canadian Ambassador

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raggi met with Bruno Pereira da Silva, Chargé d’Affaires of the French Embassy in Lebanon, who reaffirmed France’s support for the Lebanese government’s decision to ensure that all weapons remain under state authority.
Pereira da Silva also offered condolences for the Lebanese Army soldiers killed in the recent southern ammunition depot explosion. Talks covered the renewal of UNIFIL’s mandate and potential challenges that could affect the process this year.
Minister Raggi later received Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon, Stefanie McCollum, on a farewell visit marking the end of her term in Beirut. The meeting reviewed recent developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across all sectors.
Raggi thanked McCollum for Canada’s support to Lebanon and her efforts to advance ties during her tenure, wishing her success in her future assignments.
