Aoun stresses need to safeguard Christian presence in Middle East

President of the Republic Joseph Aoun reaffirmed the importance of preserving the Christian presence in the Arab East and curbing the emigration of Christians, who, he emphasized, form an integral part of both Arab and Islamic societies. 

Aoun’s remarks came during a meeting at Baabda Palace with the Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, Mar Awa III.
