Minister of Foreign Affairs Youssef Rajji received Ambassador Hossam Zaki, representative of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, along with his accompanying delegation.

The meeting, held in the presence of Lebanon’s Ambassador to Egypt, Ali Al-Halabi, focused on developments in Lebanon and the broader Arab region.

Ambassador Zaki emphasized that his visit reflected the Arab League’s deep concern for Lebanon’s stability and its strong support for the Lebanese state and the government’s decisions aimed at extending its authority across all territories and consolidating arms exclusively under state control.

For his part, Minister Rajji expressed Lebanon’s sincere appreciation for the Arab League’s support, reaffirming that the Lebanese government is addressing the arms issue with wisdom and deliberation. He added that the government is committed to rebuilding state institutions and achieving both political and security stability as a foundation for economic recovery.

The meeting also addressed the upcoming UNIFIL mandate renewal, with both sides underscoring the importance of maintaining the UN presence in South Lebanon.
