Salam receives visitors

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received at the Grand Serail, Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea, along with a delegation from the “Strong Republic” bloc, which included MPs: Sethrida Geagea, Ghassan Hasbani, Fadi Karam, Pierre Bou Assi, Melhem Riachy, Antoine Habchi, George Okais, Razi El Hajj, Elie Khoury, Nazih Matta and Said Asmar.
The visit comes in support of the Prime Minister's firm and resolute national and sovereign positions.
The discussion reportedly touched on the government’s decisions related to asserting state authority over all its territories and restricting the possession of weapons to its legitimate institutions.
The discussion also touched on the dossier of the Palestinian weapons’ handover and placing them in the custody of the army.
The discussion also addressed the financial gap draft law, being a fundamental pillar in the financial reform process and the protection of depositors' rights.
On emerging, Geagea said that the recent bold decisions taken by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam's government “have put Lebanon back on the right path.” He called on all to commit to the Lebanese government’s decisions.
Separately, Premier Salam met with Democratic Gathering bloc MPs Akram Chehayeb and Raji al-Saad, with whom he discussed the political situation and developmental demands related to the Aley district.
After the meeting, MP Chehayeb said that their visit aimed to voice support to the PM and the government in its decisions taken by the Council of Ministers regarding the issue of restricting arms to the exclusive authority of the Lebanese state.
Premier Salam late received MP Ahmad Al-Khair, with discussions reportedly touching on the latest developments and developmental affairs related to northern Lebanon.
MP Al-Khair also affirmed his support for the positions by the Lebanese government and the prime minister.
