Watch: Violent Thunderstorm Causes Major Damage

A powerful thunderstorm struck the governorate of Sidi Bouzid on the afternoon of Saturday, August 23, 2025, causing significant material damage and spreading panic among residents.

According to eyewitness accounts, several homes were affected by the force of the winds and torrential rains. Numerous parked cars in the area were damaged, some crushed by falling trees or debris carried by the gusts.

The storm also triggered a power outage, plunging several neighborhoods of the city into darkness and further complicating the situation for residents.

Technical teams from the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG) were deployed to gradually restore power in the affected areas.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
