Turkish President Abdullah Gül has declared that Turkish police and the intelligence service had information that the outlawed Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front could launch an assault prior to the February 1st suicide attack on the U.S. Embassy in Ankara.

“Unfortunately, both the police department and the intelligence service were on alert concerning the fact that this terror organization was seeking to launch an attack, they were warning everybody. But unfortunately it could not be prevented and the attack against the embassy took place,” Gül said during a joint press conference with Serbia’s visiting President
