Pope Expresses Hopes in Meeting with Israeli Leader

Reuters reported that His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, in his meeting with the Israeli president, expressed the desire for the release of hostages held by Hamas and for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The Pope also expressed his hope for a "swift resumption of negotiations."
