During the meeting, the general situation in Lebanon and the region, as well as bilateral relations, particularly between the parliaments of the two countries, were discussed.

The discussion also covered the outcomes and recommendations of the first founding conference of the Asian-African Parliament, which was held over two days in Beirut.

After the meeting, Babaee extended his sincere congratulations and blessings on the blessed occasion of the anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet and the anniversary of the birth of Imam al-Sadiq, to all Muslims and free people in the world, especially to the Lebanese people.

Babaee also indicated that he is currently in Lebanon to participate in the work of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council, which held its meetings in Beirut over the past two days.

“This meeting was highly important and valuable, with a series of sound and wise decisions being made. Among the most important decisions taken by this parliamentary forum was the condemnation of the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the absolute American support for this Israeli barbarism. The meeting also addressed the best means through which we can work in the future to develop appropriate plans and programs to develop the Asian and African peoples in all fields of education, teaching, agriculture, job opportunities, and other civilized matters that befit their status and future.” Babaee said.

He added: "Our visit to Speaker Berri was an opportunity to affirm our support and endorsement of Lebanese national unity, solidarity, and unity of word among all segments of the dear Lebanese people. We also emphasized the need for foreign powers not to interfere in the internal affairs of this brotherly country."

Separately, Speaker Berri received in Ain El-Tineh, former MPs Emile Rahme and Cesar Maalouf, with whom he discussed political developments and the general situation.
