Watch: Reasons Behind Shop Closures on Jounieh Highway

JouniehMayor Faysal Frem clarified that “warnings have been issued to the violating shops over a month ago,” noting that “those being closed today have not submitted the required documents.”

He told MTV: “Illegal shops must be closed, especially with the start of the highway expansion project,” pointing out that “the contractor will not begin work until violations are addressed, and the municipality is enforcing the regulations.”
