MoPWT completes lighting of Bhamdoun tunnel to bolster road safety

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced the completion of lighting installation for Bhmdoun Tunnel in both directions, a significant development aimed at improving road safety and easing traffic flow on this vital route, which experiences heavy daily traffic. This achievement is part of the "Lebanon on Track" project, focusing on the maintenance and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, and tunnels across Lebanon.
The ministry highlighted that its technical teams were beginning comprehensive development work on the tunnel, including cleaning the interior walls and removing accumulated dust and debris, thereby enhancing the tunnel's cleanliness and preserving its structural integrity.
This milestone is part of a broader plan to improve public safety on roads, as the new lighting and internal equipment will enhance visibility under all conditions, reducing risks even at night and in challenging weather.
