Salam receives Secretary-General of Arab Media Forum

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed at the Grand Serail, in the presence of Information Minister Paul Morcos, the Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum Madi Al-Khamis and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the discussion reportedloy touched on avenues of cooperation between Lebanon and the Forum, particularly with regard to preparations for the 21st Arab Media Forum, scheduled to be held in Beirut on October 29 and 30. This year's theme will be focused on Media and Development, under the slogan "Partnership of the Present and Alliance of the Future."
The Secretary-General of the Forum Al-Khamis affirmed that "holding the Forum’s 21st session in Beirut represents support for Lebanon and a message of confidence in its ability to regain its leading position in the Arab and international media landscape," noting that "the Forum will witness the participation of Arab information ministers, editors-in-chief, and satellite channel officials, along with an elite group of media, intellectual, and cultural figures."
Al-Khamis also pointed out that "the forum is an observer member of the Permanent Media Committee of the Council of Arab Information Ministers at the League of Arab States."
In turn, Premier Salam welcomed the convening of the forum in Lebanon, considering that "this event will reflect Lebanon's true image as a free platform for dialogue and media."
The PM also stressed the importance that the forum "be an opportunity to exchange expertise and enhance joint Arab media work, in a way that serves development issues in our societies."
