Morcos meets Beirut officials, gears up for Arab Media Forum

Minister of Information Paul Morcos met in his office at the ministry, the Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum, Madi Al-Khamis, and Media Figure Jamal Fayyad, within the framework of preparations for the "21st session of the Arab Media Forum", which will be held for the first time in Beirut, under the auspices of the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun.
The 21st session of the Arab Media Forum will be attended by scores of Lebanese and Arab media ministers and dignitaries.
After the meeting, Al-Khamis said: "We held the preparatory meeting in preparation for the launch of the activities of the Arab Media Forum in its exceptional 21st session that will be held in Beirut on the 29th and 30th of next October, under the title "Media and Development Partners of the Present and the Future Alliance ", under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun."
Al-Khamis indicated that today's meeting was attended by members of the organizing committee, media figures and a number of participants who have an active role in the activities of this forum.
Khamis also hoped that "the forum will achieve its set development and media purposes."
The Secretary General of the Forum also indicated that "the forum will be a qualitative shift in its activities and the media path,” announcing that “Beirut will be a permanent platform for the launch of many significant media initiatives."
Separately, Minister Morcos received in his office, the head of the Municipal Council of Beirut Ibrahim Zidan, with whom he discussed public affairs and issues related to the city of Beirut.
On emerging, Zidan said that “another meeting will be held with the Minister of Information in the next two weeks, to announce cooperation between the Ministry of Information and the Municipality of Beirut."
Additionally, Minister Morcos welcomed at his ministerial office, a delegation from the Graphic Design Directors’ Syndicate, headed by Patrick Nakouzi.
Following the meeting, Nakouzi said that the delegation discussed with the Minister matters related to the Union, the future projects of the Syndicate, and the new media draft law.
The delegation also invited Minister Morcos to patronize the brunch banquet to be hosted by the Union upcoming December in honor of the Lebanese media and media figures.
Among Minister Morcos’s itinerant visitors for today had been Businessman Samer Kabbara, who hailed the vital efforts made by Minister Morcos in the media domain.
