Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem form one Palestinian land that cannot be divided, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said on Wednesday.

The top official also reiterated the Kingdom’s rejection of any attempts to annex or expand settlements or forcibly displace Palestinians. He explained that what is needed is the empowerment of the Palestinian Authority and support for the Arab-Islamic plan for recovery and reconstruction.

Prince Faisal was speaking at the high-level ministerial meeting for the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

According to the minister, Saudi Arabia will continue its diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to embody the independent Palestinian state on the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and open the way for a just and lasting peace, common security and prosperity for region and its people.

“The reality of the occupation continues to perpetuate genocide, famine and violations against Muslim and Christian holy sites,” Prince Faisal said. “And even reached attacks on the sovereignty of Arab countries, the latest of which was the targeting of the State of Qatar,” he said referring to Israel’s attempt to assassinate Hamas senior leaders in an air strike on Qatar earlier this month.
