Aoun Stresses Need to Support Lebanese Army from New York

President Joseph Aoun and First Lady Neemat Aoun concluded their visit to New York, where they represented Lebanon at the United Nations General Assembly and the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing Platform for Action).
On his last day in New York, President Aoun met at his residence at the Marriott Hotel with US Central Command Commander Admiral Brad Cooper to discuss regional issues in light of recent developments. The discussions emphasized the “need to support the Lebanese Army in carrying out its duties to extend state authority across all Lebanese territories up to internationally recognized borders.”
The talks also addressed ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory and the work of the Mechanism Committee aimed at halting hostilities.
Admiral Cooper reaffirmed US support for the Lebanese Army according to the planned program.
