Aoun Reaches Out to EU Ahead of Elections

President Joseph Aoun told Deputy Secretary-General for Peace, Security, and Defense at the European External Action Service, Charles Fries, during his reception at Baabda Palace, that "Lebanon welcomes any support the European Union provides to strengthen the Lebanese Army and security forces to extend their authority across the entire Lebanese territory," and requested the EU’s participation in monitoring the parliamentary elections next May.
