The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, awarding it to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado.

Last year, the Japanese peace organization Nihon Hidankyo received the prize for its efforts in promoting a world free of nuclear weapons, based on the testimonies of survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
