Interior Ministry Uncovers Fake Driver’s License Scheme

As part of ongoing efforts by the Car Registration Office to fight corruption and promote transparency, authorities uncovered a case in which a woman obtained a forged biometric driver’s license without taking the driving test.
An internal investigation revealed that a man identified as “M.D.” had deceived the woman by claiming he could secure a license without an exam. He provided her with the document, which was later found to be counterfeit. The case was referred to the Information Branch through the Dekwaneh Police Station.
Further investigations showed that “M.D.”, in collaboration with others, had issued forged biometric driver’s licenses to several individuals in exchange for payments exceeding $500 per license.
Acting on the orders of the competent judiciary, “M.D.” was arrested, and the counterfeit licenses in his possession were seized. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The Ministry of Interior warns citizens against falling victim to such fraudulent schemes and reiterates that driver’s licenses can only be obtained through the proper legal procedures.
