Energy minister inspects Nahr el-Kalb site, pledges swift action to address pollution and violations

Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi conducted a field visit to the Nahr el-Kalb–Zekrit area, accompanied by MP Razi El Hage, representatives from the Public Works Ministry and the Council for Development and Reconstruction, and local municipal officials.
Saddi inspected ongoing cleanup works and the restoration of support walls along the river, which has suffered from waste dumping, sewage leaks, and illegal encroachments. He urged citizens to stop discarding household waste in the river and stressed that ending pollution and completing structural repairs remain top priorities, financed through the 2024–2025 budgets.
The Minister also confirmed coordination with the Interior Ministry and CDR to resolve encroachments and wastewater issues permanently.
