US President Donald Trump declared that “today marks the end of an era of terrorism and death, and a historic dawn for a new Middle East.”
He affirmed that “peace in Gaza represents a tremendous victory for Israel and the world,” adding: “Iran was like a black cloud over Israel and the Middle East, but we have eliminated that threat and prevented it from acquiring nuclear weapons. Hezbollah was a dagger striking Israel, and we have ended it. The Lebanese president is working to collect weapons and place them solely under the authority of the state, and we support him. Positive developments are taking place in Lebanon.”
Trump noted that “decades of spreading terrorism, jihadism, and anti-Semitism have failed. They were destructive and deadly, while the countries that chose to cooperate with Israel and join the Abraham Accords have become the most successful in the region.” He called on more states to join these agreements.
He emphasized that “I always seek to end wars and prefer peace, but if we must fight, we are the best at it.” He added: “We possess weapons beyond imagination, and their destructive power is immense. We have given many of them to Israel, and I hope we never have to use them.”
Trump continued: “The forces of chaos that once plagued the region have been completely defeated. We halted the main state sponsor of terrorism, Iran. We must never forget October 7 or allow it to happen again. The long nightmare for Israelis and Palestinians has come to an end.”
He concluded by saying that reaching a peace agreement with Iran “would be remarkable,” noting that “the entire region has agreed on a plan to disarm Hamas, and peace is no longer just a dream.”
