Aoun meets the UK Defense Senior Advisor to the Middle East, Samy Gemayel

President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received at Baabda Palace, the UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa (DSAME) Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, in the presence of British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell.
The meeting reportedly addressed the current situation in Lebanon and the region and the latest developments, especially in the wake of the announcement of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the Sharm El-Sheikh meeting and its issued positions.
The discussion also touched on the Lebanese-Syrian relations, with President Aoun stressing to the British official that "coordination is ongoing between the two countries in various fields, particularly in the security and economic ones."
The President of the Republic and Admiral Algren also discussed the strong relations between Lebanon and Britain, "particularly the existing cooperation in the security field and British support for the construction of watchtowers on the eastern and southern borders."
In this context, President Aoun thanked "British support for Lebanon in various fields."
Separately, President Aoun met with Kataeb Party leader, MP Samy Gemayel, with whom he discussed the current political situation in light of local and regional developments.
Additionally, Aoun received the President of the Federation of Arab Hospitals, MP Fadi Alame, along with a delegation from the Federation, who briefed the President on the Federation’s health and medical initiatives and activities undertaken in the Arab healthcare landscape.
President Aoun also received Head of the Change Movement Party, Attorney Elie Mahfoud, and a delegation from the party.
