Photos: Meeting between Aoun and Rahi at the Vatican

President Joseph Aoun and First Lady Nehmat Aoun are taking part in Saint Peter’s Square at the Vatican in the ceremony proclaiming the sainthood of Blessed Bishop Ignatius Maloyan of the Armenian Catholic Church, presided over by Pope Leon XIV.
Prior to the ceremony, President Aoun met in Rome with Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, where they discussed the Pope’s upcoming visit to Lebanon and general developments. The President also received Lebanon’s Ambassador to the Holy See, Fadi Assaf, and embassy staff, as well as Lebanon’s Ambassador to Rome, Carla Jazzar, and her team, and was briefed on the situation of both embassies and their relations with members of the Lebanese community in Italy.
