52,000 Captagon Pills Seized with Illegal Drug-Production Machines

The Lebanese Army – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The army continues to pursue individuals disturbing public order and to combat drug-related activities through ongoing surveillance and security operations to track down wanted persons.

In this context, army units, each supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, carried out several raids and made four arrests as follows:

- Two Lebanese citizens, (Q.B.) and (D.A.), were arrested in Qab Elias – Zahle for opening fire.

- (A.Y.) was arrested in Nahle – Baalbek, and a military weapon was seized in his possession.

- (M.H.) was arrested in Hamra Street – Beirut, with weapons, ammunition, and a quantity of drugs found in his possession.

Another unit, backed by an Intelligence Directorate patrol, raided the homes of wanted individuals in Boudai – Baalbek, seizing equipment used to manufacture drugs and destroying an area planted with cannabis.

Additionally, an army unit operating along the Lebanese-Syrian border in the Qaa Projects – Hermel area confiscated approximately 52,000 Captagon pills.

The seized items were handed over and investigations with the detainees are underway under judicial supervision. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
