The Israeli army spokesperson announced that “the army carried out a strike in the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon, killing Abbas Hassan Karaki, who served as Hezbollah’s logistics chief for the southern front.”
He added, “In recent months, Karaki led and oversaw efforts to rebuild Hezbollah’s combat capabilities and took part in attempts to restore infrastructure south of the Litani River that was destroyed during the war, particularly in Operation Northern Arrows. He also headed Hezbollah’s force reconstruction unit and managed the transfer and storage of weapons in southern Lebanon. Over the years, he held several positions within Hezbollah.”
The spokesperson continued, “Abbas Karaki's activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon. The army will continue to act to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel.”
