Salam visits Pontifical Maronite Institute in Rome

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, accompanied by Lebanon's Ambassador to the Holy See, Fadi Assaf, and Lebanon's Ambassador to the Italian Republic, Carla Jazzar, visited the Pontifical Maronite Institute in Rome. He was received by the Institute's President, Monsignor George Abi Saad, along with priests studying in Rome.
Salam expressed his happiness at visiting the Pontifical Maronite Institute, whose history he is well acquainted with. He thanked Monsignor Abi Saad and the Institute's priests for the warm welcome.
President Salam also met with the Armenian Catholic Patriarch of Cilicia, Raphael Bedros XXI Minassian, at the Armenian Pontifical Institute in Rome.
The meeting comes as part of President Salam's visit to the Vatican, where they discussed the general situation and relations between the Armenian Catholic Church and the Lebanese state, in addition to the challenges facing Lebanon at the present stage and ways to enhance cooperation for the good of the country and its people.
