Labor Minister Mohammad Haidar met with General Security Director General, Maj. Gen. Hassan Choucair, to coordinate efforts on work permits and residency regulations for foreign labor in Lebanon.
Minister Haidar announced an upcoming regularization campaign for Arab and foreign workers with expired permits or residencies who entered the country legally, allowing them to obtain work permits before renewing their residency.
The Minister warned that employers hiring undocumented workers will face legal and administrative sanctions, giving a grace period until year-end to comply.
Haidar also vowed to revoke licenses of recruitment offices sending hourly domestic workers.
