Kanaan makes a promise to Lebanese depositors abroad

The management of the Union of Lebanese Expatriate Depositors held a virtual meeting with MP Ibrahim Kanaan, head of the Parliament’s Finance and Budget Committee.
The union reaffirmed its rejection of any infringement on deposits or the write-off of any part of them. It added in a statement: “MP Kanaan assured us that any attempt to write off deposits will never pass through the Finance and Budget Committee.”
The union expressed its readiness to cooperate with MP Kanaan and every parliamentarian who supports depositors’ right to recover their full savings, voicing full support for Kanaan’s stance rejecting any harm to deposits and urging the swift adoption of a plan to restore them.
