Minister of Information Paul Morcos announced the formation of a ministerial committee to discuss proposals related to the electoral law within a week.
Following the Cabinet session, Morcos said: “President Joseph Aoun extended his condolences to the family of the young Elio Abou Hanna and stressed the need to carry on with the investigations.”
He added: “President Aoun believes that the current situation in Parliament is obstructing decision-making and emphasized that powers should not be used as an excuse to delay actions, as the country cannot endure any further shocks.”
Morcos continued: “Prime Minister Nawaf Salam noted that investigations into the murder of Elio Abou Hanna are progressing and pointed out that weapons still held by certain factions pose a threat to security and the Lebanese people, and do not serve the Palestinian cause.”
