Army: Israeli incursion in Blida is a criminal act and clear breach of sovereignty

The Lebanese Army issued a statement early Thursday announcing that a unit from the Israeli army had infiltrated the town of Blida in the Marjayoun district at dawn on October 30, firing at the municipality building and killing one of its employees.
The statement said a Lebanese Army patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene after reports of gunfire in the area.
Army Command described the incident as “a criminal act and a blatant violation of Lebanese sovereignty, the cessation of hostilities agreement, and UN Security Council Resolution 1701,” adding that it was part of Israel’s “continued aggression against innocent civilians.”
The statement also dismissed the Israeli military’s claims as “false and unfounded,” saying they were merely an attempt to justify ongoing violations against Lebanon and its citizens.
According to the army, Lebanon has asked the committee overseeing the cessation of hostilities to intervene and put an end to Israel’s repeated violations. The army said it remains in constant coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to monitor the situation.
