Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri denounced the latest wave of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, calling them “a blatant assault on national sovereignty that cannot be met with mere condemnation.”
Berri referred specifically to the Israeli raid on Blida municipal building, which killed municipal employee, Ibrahim Salameh, as well as the destruction of the Adaisseh Hussainiyah center and attacks targeting the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL.
Berri said the raids on Blida, Odaisseh, and southern villages including Aishieh, Jarmaq, and Khardali, along with Israeli overflights above Beirut and its suburbs, represented an “escalation that goes beyond violations of international resolutions.”
The House Speaker urged all the Lebanese to “rally around unity and support President Joseph Aoun’s stance,” praising the resilience of southern residents who continue to face aggression with steadfastness and dignity.
