Watch: Road Collapses, Cars Fall

The Traffic Management Center reported a partial collapse of the Khalde seaside road, which led to traffic being diverted to nearby roads.
Several cars happened to be passing at the time, causing some of them to fall.
It was found that the issue resulted from water leaking beneath the road from a Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Establishment pipeline that supplies Beirut and the southern suburbs from the Msayleh area.
Since early morning, the Choueifat Municipal Police have been working to facilitate movement for residents and close off the road. They have also contacted the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Establishment to repair the malfunction as quickly as possible and restore the situation to its previous state.
