The Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that the capital, Damascus, came under attack after two Katyusha rockets were launched from the outskirts of the city toward residential neighborhoods in the Mezzeh area and its surroundings, resulting in a number of civilian injuries and material damage.
The ministry added that, in coordination with the Interior Ministry, it has begun investigating the circumstances of what it described as a “heinous attack,” working to collect the necessary evidence and determine the trajectory and launch site of the rockets. It stressed that it “will not hesitate to pursue those responsible for this criminal act and will take deterrent measures against anyone who threatens the security of the capital or targets the lives and stability of Syrians.”
Later, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that it had identified the launch site of the rockets fired at the Mezzeh district in Damascus, vowing to “pursue those responsible and take firm measures against anyone who endangers the security of the capital and its residents.”
