Iran to Aoun: Independence Requires Ending Foreign Occupation

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sent a congratulatory message to President Joseph Aoun on the occasion of Lebanon’s Independence Day.
According to the Mehr News Agency, President Pezeshkian expressed his hope that the partnership between the two countries would continue to grow and advance across all fields, reaffirming Iran’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s government and people.
Pezeshkian stressed that Iran’s consistent policy is to support Lebanon’s stability and prosperity and to promote dignified coexistence among all religions and communities under the Lebanese flag. He added, “In this context, I voice my opposition to any actions that could fuel tensions, particularly the attacks carried out by the Israeli regime on your country’s territory, and I reaffirm the need for the occupation forces to withdraw.”
