In a new escalation of rhetoric toward Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel “will continue to do whatever is necessary to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its capabilities or reestablishing its threat against us,” adding that the same approach is being applied in Gaza.
Netanyahu stressed that Israel is solely responsible for its security, saying that decisions to preempt attacks are made by the Israeli military. “We make our decisions without waiting for anyone’s approval,” he said.
