Hajj Hassan: The US bears responsibility for Israel’s breach of ceasefire agreement

MP Hussein Hajj Hassan, head of the Baalbek-Hermel parliamentary bloc, held the United States responsible for Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.

He stated that the agreement had clearly stipulated the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory within 60 days, something that never occurred.

He explained that the agreement clearly required Israeli forces to withdraw from Lebanese territory within 60 days, something that was never implemented. Instead, a White House statement issued days before the deadline extended the Israeli presence until the end of February 2024, marking a clear violation of the terms Lebanon had fully committed to, both at the state level and through the resistance.

Hajj Hassan also criticized the Mechanism Committee, headed by the U.S. and comprising France and the UN, for its failure to act, despite having documented over 10,000 Israeli violations, including the killing of 335 people, wounding of nearly 1,000, the abduction of Lebanese citizens from within Lebanon, and daily attacks on private property and Lebanese company equipment.

He accused the committee of inaction in the face of ongoing aggression.
