Watch: Pope Leo XIV Urges, “Lay Down These Weapons”

In his sermon at the Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Beirut waterfront before more than 120,000 people, Pope Leo XIV emphasized that "our only path is to lay down the weapons of sectarian and political divisions, open our traditions to mutual encounter, and revive the dream of a united Lebanon where peace and justice prevail."

The Pope added: "Lebanon, rise, and be a home of justice and fraternity, and a prophetic sign of peace for the entire Middle East."
