Aoun reviews security situation with Interior Minister

President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, discussed the country’s security situation during a meeting with Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brig. Gen. Ahmad al-Hajjar.
The President also received MP Akram Chehayeb, who stated after the meeting that, following the successful visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV and the warm reception he received from the Lebanese people, he conveyed to President Aoun his appreciation for the visit’s outcomes and the positions expressed by the Pope.
Chehayeb also praised the appointment of former ambassador Simon Karam as head of Lebanon’s negotiating delegation, “a major step forward,” he said, hoping it will help ease Israeli military pressure on Lebanon and garner significant Arab and international support, in light of what he described as the courageous decision taken by President Aoun.
