Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea met in Maarab with French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian, in the presence of French Ambassador Hervé Magro and an accompanying delegation that included Political and Media Attaché Romain Calvari and Political Attaché Marie Favreil.
The meeting was also attended by MPs Ziad Hawat and Elias Stephan, former MP Eddy Abillama, LF Foreign Relations Department head and former minister Richard Kouyoumjian, and department official Tony Darwish.
Following the hour-long meeting, Le Drian briefly spoke with reporters. When asked whether he intended to make a statement, he simply replied: “Quand je parle je parle.” (“When I speak, I speak.”)
Discussions centered on the upcoming international conference dedicated to supporting the Lebanese Army, which is expected to include American, Saudi, and French participation. The meeting also underscored the importance of holding the parliamentary elections on schedule.
