Rafic Hariri International Airport is gearing up, as it does every year-end, to welcome expatriates and tourists. Christmas and New Year decorations now fill the terminals from the arrival halls to the departure gates and the Cedar Lounge, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the airport.

Colorful displays bid farewell to departing passengers with images that reflect a country determined to celebrate its holidays in the best light, while the warm glow of the decorations welcomes returning Lebanese and visitors who have been longing to reunite with their families for the Christmas and New Year break.

In November, the airport recorded 223,066 arrivals. In just the first week of December, the number of incoming passengers increased significantly, with daily arrivals ranging between eight and ten thousand people.

The Director General of Civil Aviation, Engineer Amin Jaber, explained that the number of arrivals is expected to rise even further by mid-month, reaching around eighteen thousand travelers per day, based on airlines’ requests to add more flights to Lebanon.
