EU Ambassador hosts reception for local, foreign media

EU Ambassador to Lebanon Sandra De Waele hosted a reception yesterday at the EU Residence in Yarzeh in honor of local and international media. The event was attended by Minister of Information Dr. Paul Morcos, Editors Syndicate President Joseph Kassab, and a wide group of journalists from traditional and alternative foreign and local outlets.
In her remarks, Ambassador De Waele reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to Lebanon, highlighting progress made in 2025 and the depth of the EU–Lebanon partnership. She outlined upcoming high-level engagements and new financing agreements, noting the EU’s expanding work in Lebanon, from security and institutional reforms to essential services such as education, health, and social protection. She added that the EU aims next year to deepen its partnership with the Lebanese government and strengthen its outreach to citizens.
