The Korean leader to his soldiers: Heroes

North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency reported on Saturday that leader Kim Jong Un attended a reception for a military engineering unit that returned home after carrying out missions in Russia.
In remarks carried by the agency, Kim praised officers and soldiers of the 528th Engineering Regiment of the Korean People’s Army for their ‘heroic conduct’ and ‘collective bravery’ in executing orders issued by the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea during a 120-day overseas mission.
The agency said the unit was deployed in early August and carried out combat and engineering tasks in Russia’s Kursk region amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced last month that North Korean forces who helped Russia repel a major Ukrainian incursion in the Kursk region are now playing an important role in clearing the area of mines.”
