Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was escorted from a memorial service for the victims of the Bondi, Sydney incident amid a heavy security presence, after being met with boos and angry shouts from some attendees, with one person yelling and describing him as "weak and dangerous."
Under tense conditions, Albanese and his wife, Jodie Haydon, were moved to safety under the cover of darkness by his Australian Federal Police protection team, while New South Wales Police guarded the perimeter fence to keep members of the public at a distance.
The Prime Minister had arrived at Bondi Beach accompanied by Minister for Home Affairs Tony Burke and Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles; the three were subjected to repeated heckling upon their arrival and throughout the moving memorial service, as seen in the attached video.
