Russia claims to have downed 44 Ukrainian drones overnight

The Russian military says from just before midnight to 9am local time (06:00 GMT), its air defences brought down at least 44 drones launched by Ukrainian forces.
Ukrainian soldiers sent 17 drones to attack the Russian region of Belgorod, most of them this morning, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.
It said 14 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the Rostov region, seven over Stavropol, one drone each was shot down over Russia’s Kursk and Voronezh, as well as the Russia-occupied Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea.
