Berri meets UN Peace Operations Head

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received at the second presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Speaker Berri's media advisor Ali Hamdan.
The discussion reportedly touched on the general situation in Lebanon and the region, and UNIFIL's tasks in south Lebanon.
Following the meeting, Lacroix described the meeting with Speaker Berri as positive, and thanked him for his support for UNIFIL. Lacroix also said that he discussed with Speaker Berri the phase that will follow the end of UNIFIL's mandate.
Speaker Berri later received the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Karim Souaid.
This afternoon, Berri met with the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund, former Minister Jihad Azour.
